High street bank Barclays has set up a series of free seminars aimed at helping business owners take control of their finances during the recession .
The Let's Talk More Profit and Let's Talk Brighter Marketing workshops will begin on May 6th and will run all over the country in the following few months, beginning in Nottingham and Stratford-Upon-Avon .
Businesses will be helped to look at their prospects, identify their customers and effectively market their services during difficult economic times.
A survey of those who attended last year's seminars said that 43 per cent went on to find cheaper suppliers and 43 per cent changed the way they charged their clients.
John Davis, local business marketing director for Barclays, said: "Our innovative seminars to support the small and medium enterprise sector give businesses key tactics to make fundamental improvements even during these testing times."
A recent survey by Unbiased.co.uk showed that British people are less confident imparting financial advice to a friend, with 36 per cent preferring to seek out expert advice instead.
